School vans carrying children colliding with train at railway crossing, two students died

The news of the heartbreaking accident from Tamil Nadu has come to light. On Tuesday, a school van carrying children at the railway crossing was hit by a moving passenger train, killing two students. At least six other children were seriously injured. The tragic collision took place at around 7:45 am at the manned railway crossing between Kudalore and Alppakkam, causing serious questions on the security protocol and human mistake.

What was the cause of the accident?

Two children of the village have died in this accident. Two others are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Emergency services rushed the injured children to the nearest hospital. Eyewitnesses said that when the train came, the gate was open, although it is not clear whether the railway employees responsible for the crossing were present at that time. The incident is being investigated.

When a school bus crossing the railway track was hit by the train, SP SP Jayakumar said- “Two students died, two students and bus drivers were injured. Railway police, railway officers and state police are further investigating.” After the accident, repair work is going on at Sembanakuppam railway crossing.
