The High Court has granted big relief to both the actors in the case of sexual assault against Sadhu Kokila and actor Mandya Ramesh, a popular actor, music director and Film Academy president of Kannada film industry (Sandalwood). The case filed in 2017 was quashed by the High Court due to lack of adequate evidence.
In 2017, after Sadhu Kokila and actor Mandya Ramesh had a massage at a parlor in Mysore, a woman working there filed a sexual assault case against the actors at the Saraswathipuram police station in Mysore, alleging that the two actors sexually harassed her. In connection with the case, summons were issued to the two actors, then in 2019, the High Court stayed the hearing of the case.

Senior advocate H. S. Chandramouli argued on behalf of Mandya Ramesh and Sadhu Kokila that there is no name in the FIR and no evidence for the accusation. Accordingly, the case was dismissed due to lack of adequate evidence. A High Court bench headed by Justice MG Uma has issued this order.
