New Delhi: Mamata Banerjee’s government is in the news for not following the presidential protocol during President Draupadi Murmu’s visit to Bengal and a war of words has also started between TMC and BJP. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi fiercely targeted Mamata Banerjee’s government and called it an insult to President Draupadi Murmu. PM Modi tweeted on X handle and said that this is shameful. This has never happened before. Everyone who believes in democracy and empowerment of tribal communities is disappointed.

President Draupadi Murmu was insulted: PM Modi

President Draupadi Murmu herself belongs to the tribal community. The pain and suffering he has expressed has deeply saddened the people of India. The TMC government of West Bengal has really crossed all limits. Mamata Banerjee’s administration is responsible for this insult to the President. It is equally unfortunate that the West Bengal government deals so carelessly with an important subject like Santhal culture. The office of President is above politics and the sanctity of this office should always be respected. Hopefully there will be wisdom in the West Bengal government and TMC.

Nirmala Sitharaman also targeted Mamata government

At the same time, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted on X handle and said that the President’s statement is full of pain. This has never happened before. According to their constitutional position, information about every protocol detail and arrangement should be given. This violation is an insult to Draupadi Murmu, who holds the highest position in India.

what is the whole matter

Actually, President Draupadi Murmu was on Bengal tour on Saturday. Addressing a gathering of tribals at Bidhannagar near Siliguri, Murmu described CM Mamata Banerjee as her ‘younger sister’ and wondered whether the West Bengal Chief Minister was ‘angry’ about something, as neither the Chief Minister nor any other minister was present to welcome her during her visit to North Bengal. He also raised questions on shifting the venue of the annual event of the tribal community from Bidhannagar to Goshaipur. The President said, “There is enough space there and many people could have attended. But I do not know why the state administration did not allow the program there. Today’s program is being held at a place where it is difficult for people to come.”
