Rajpal is serving a 6-month jail sentence after his relief plea in the check bounce case was rejected by the Delhi High Court. He surrendered in Tihar Jail, Delhi on 5 February. The case pertains to 2010, when the actor took a loan of Rs 5 crore for his film ‘Aata Pata Lapata’. However, due to the flop of the film, he could not repay the loan and the checks given by him also bounced.
