Suspicious death of actress: Accused sentenced to 23 years

Actress Pratyusha, who acted as the heroine in ‘Snehamante Itara’, ‘Rayudu’, ‘Kalasukovalani’ and some other super hit movies (Cinema), died suspiciously on February 22, 2002, when she was growing as a star actress. His death was big news in the then undivided Andhra Pradesh. Now after 24 years the Supreme Court has announced the death of the actress. In the case of Pratyusha’s death, the Supreme Court said that Siddharth Reddy, who was the friend of the actress, is guilty.

It was said that the dead actress Pratyusha and the now convicted Siddharth were in love with each other, Siddharth Reddy’s family did not agree to their marriage, and both of them drank cold drinks mixed with poison, and while Pratyusha died, Siddharth Reddy survived. But Pratyusha’s mother, Sarojini, who did not agree to this, fought continuously through the courts and finally got Siddharth to be punished.

As Pratyusha’s mother said, Pratyusha got a chance to act as a heroine in the movie ‘Jayam’. It was like Pratyusha who was happy went to the parlor with her girlfriend. Siddharth Reddy came there and took Pratyush. After that, the girlfriend called Pratyusha and even then Pratyusha said that she would come in a few minutes. But a few minutes later, Pratyusha himself was admitted to the hospital by Siddharth. This caused many doubts.

According to the statement given by Siddharth, both of them mixed poison in cold drinks and drank it. But Pratyusha died there. Siddharth was admitted to the hospital and survived. Earlier, the Metropolitan Court had given five years imprisonment to Siddharth on charges of abetment to suicide. After that, Siddharth filed an application in the High Court. There he was sentenced to two years simple imprisonment. Later, Pratyusha’s mother filed an application in the Supreme Court. After many years of trial, the verdict is out now.

The Supreme Court found Siddharth guilty of abetting and aiding suicide in the case and said that Siddharth Reddy should surrender to the police within four weeks. But the quantum of punishment has not been announced yet.
