Before the T20 World Cup 2026, the dispute between Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is increasing. Recently BCB had refused to play its matches in India for the upcoming World Cup. Now the news is that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has said in this matter that Bangladesh will lose points if they do not play the match in India. Let’s take a look at this news.

ICC rejected BCB’s demand

ICC told BCB in a virtual meeting that if Bangladesh does not come to India and play the match, they may have to forfeit points. However, BCB has claimed that ICC has not given any such warning. According to the pre-determined schedule of ICC, Bangladesh team present in Group-C has to play its first 3 matches in Kolkata. Bangladesh team has to play at Eden Garden Stadium on 7 February (against West Indies), 9 February (against Italy) and 14 February (against England). Their last group match is to be played against Nepal cricket team on 17 February at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
