Allen, who came to open the innings from New Zealand, scored the 7th half-century of his T20 international career. Allen and Seifert together made an unbroken partnership of 175 runs in 92 balls for the first wicket. This now becomes the record for the highest partnership for any wicket in the history of T20 World Cup. Earlier, England’s Jos Buttler and Alex Hales had added 170 runs against India in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. At third place in this list is the pair of Quinton de Kock-Riley Rousseau (168 vs Bangladesh, 2022).
