Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026: NDA’s seat formula decided, know who got how many seats

Chennai: The formula for distribution of seats among the constituent parties of NDA has been decided for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The seat distribution was finalized in an important meeting at the AIADMK headquarters in Chennai on Monday. The seat sharing was finalized in the presence of AIADMK general secretary and former CM K Palanisamy and senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

BJP will contest elections on 27 seats

According to this agreement, for the elections to be held on April 23 on a total of 234 assembly seats in the state, AIADMK has given 27 seats to BJP, while PMK will contest on 18 seats, while AMMK has got 11 seats.

In the meeting AIADMK leader K. Palaniswami, Union minister and BJP Tamil Nadu election in-charge Piyush Goyal, state BJP president Nainar Nagenthran, PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss and AMMK general secretary TTV Dhinakaran were present at the AIADMK headquarters.

Confident of defeating the ruling coalition

NDA leaders have expressed confidence that NDA will come to power in the state with absolute majority. With this seat sharing formula, AIADMK has tried to woo its key allies so that it can give a tough competition to the ruling alliance. BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan said, “We are very happy. We have formed a very strong alliance. Our alliance is going to win the elections.”

Will win more than 200 seats out of 234 – Ramdas

PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss said that there is a big problem of law and order in the state. Women are being abused every day. We are confident that we will come to power by winning more than 200 seats out of 234. If DMK has done so much for Tamil Nadu in the last five years, why does it need so many parties for an alliance? If you have done so much for Tamil Nadu, then contest the elections on the basis of your achievements; Apart from corruption, extortion and commission, he has not achieved anything. Ramdas said that DMK is scared. People have already given him a chance of five years and now people are waiting to throw him out of power.
