What is the news?
Telegram has released a new update for Android. It has become available in version 12.4.0 through Play Store. This messaging app has introduced liquid glass style. The new design builds on changes made late last year, when the platform began testing transparent panels and soft UI elements. The company first released full support for Liquid Glass on iOS in early January.
This change has been made in the design of the app
In the new update, Telegram has adopted a new look, which has a bottom bar with 4 tabs inspired by iOS. There are also new transparent elements, which are especially visible in the app’s Light mode. These 4 tabs are for Chat, Contact, Settings and Profile and the bottom bar remains open on all the tabs even when scrolling. It does not exactly copy Apple’s liquid glass design.
These changes have also been made in the app
Telegram has also removed the hamburger side menu entirely, while moving functions like creating new groups and accessing secondary options to the 3-dot overflow menu at the top right corner of the chat screen. This makes the layout cleaner. Introducing Liquid Glass style in Android is considered to be Telegram’s effort to reduce the design difference across all platforms.
