Ministry: A language controversy has erupted in Shri Raghavendra Swamy Math of Mantralaya. Telugu speakers of Andhra Pradesh have expressed outrage over the Kannada sloka plaque at the main gate of the Math.
Raya’s famous sloka “Poojaya Raghavendraya Satyadharma Ratayacha…” is written in Kannada at the entrance of the Math. Local devotees are arguing that the Mantralaya should be given more importance to the Telugu language as it belongs to Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district, even though it is on the border of Raichur in Karnataka.

Telugu speakers who have opposed the Kannada board have started a campaign against the Math on social media. These photos are being tagged to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Why is Kannada important in the land of Andhra Pradesh? The netizens who are questioning that, are demanding immediate action against the Kannada nameplate and installing a Telugu nameplate.
