A situation of tension arose in Kalyu village of Sillagrahat area of ​​Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday morning when a case of setting fire to the sacred clothes of the Mother Goddess in a temple came to light. The matter is of Jalpa temple. A youth from another community entered the local Jalpa Mata temple and set fire to the sacred cloth of Mata. There is huge anger in the area after the incident. The family members of the accused youth have apologized to the villagers regarding this incident.

What is the whole matter?

According to the information received, this incident is being reported around 5:00 am on Saturday morning. The villagers allege that a young man belonging to another community violated the sanctity of the temple and set fire to the clothes offered to the goddess. When the villagers reached the temple in the morning and saw the condition there, the news spread like wildfire in the entire area.

As soon as information about the incident was received, the police administration came into action. SHO of Sadar police station reached the spot with his team and took stock of the situation. However, after committing the incident the accused youth fled from the spot. The police have interrogated people from the local Muslim community. Sadar police station in-charge (SHO) has taken a tough stance and issued orders to arrest the accused as soon as possible and bring him to Chamba police station. Police have registered the case and started further investigation.

Demand for strict action by filing FIR

Due to hurt of faith, villagers reached Chamba police station and Deputy Commissioner office. The protesters submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner and demanded that strict legal action should be taken by registering the strictest FIR against this despicable act that hurts religious sentiments.

The family members of the accused apologized

At the same time, the family members of the accused met the villagers. Expressing deep regret over this incident, the family members publicly apologized and assured that no such untoward incident will happen again in future.
