A surprising case has come to light from Tirupati city of Andhra Pradesh. A young man climbed to the top of the gopuram at the famous Sri Govindarajaswamy temple here in the city, causing chaos for some time. It is being told that shortly after the temple was closed, the young man entered inside the temple and was under the influence of alcohol. By the time the people of TTD’s Vigilance Department got wind of this, this person had climbed to the top of the main Gopuram. Climbing here, he started trying to remove the urn fixed on the peak.
The person entered by climbing the wall
Before the vigilance could know, he climbed the wall of the temple and entered inside. The accused was identified as Kuttadi Tirupati, a resident of Kurma Wada, Peddamalla Reddy Colony, Nizamabad (Telangana). Tirupati East Police and Fire Department personnel had to work hard for three hours to bring down the youth from the gopuram of the temple. When the policemen reached the top with the help of iron stairs, during the explanation the young man put a condition that he would come down only if he gets a quarter bottle of liquor. The policeman made him come down on the pretext of giving him liquor and then arrested him.
Demand for liquor to get down
Tirupati East DSP M. Bhaktavatsalam Naidu said that an inebriated person created a ruckus at the Sri Govindarajaswamy Temple in Tirupati. The person entered the temple premises by dodging the security personnel. As soon as he tried to climb the temple wall, the vigilance team immediately spotted him. Inside the temple, he also tried to reach the urns by climbing the gopuram (top of the temple). The man was identified as Kuttadi Tirupati (45), a resident of Peddamalla Reddy Colony, Kurmawada in Nizamabad district of Telangana. The man demanded a quart of liquor and said he would come down only after getting it. After his demand was agreed to, he was brought down and taken to Tirupati East police station. Further investigation is ongoing.
