Truck came at high speed near police station, hit Bolero, 5 policemen died

A horrific road accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday in Jharsuguda district of Odisha. There was a head-on collision between a speeding truck and a Bolero near Jharsuguda Sadar police station. In this accident, 5 policemen died on the spot, while 3 others were seriously injured.

Bolero was completely shattered

According to initial information, the truck coming from the front was at high speed and suddenly had a direct collision with the Bolero. The collision was so terrible that the Bolero was completely shattered. The front part of the vehicle was badly pressed, due to which the soldiers sitting inside did not even get a chance to recover.

Deceased policemen identified

The policemen who died in the accident have been identified as APR i.e. Armed Police Reserve jawan Kashiram Bhoi, Devdutt Sa, Drill Sub-Inspector Niranjan Kujur, APR Havildar Lingaraj Dhurua and Home Guard Bhaktabandhu Mirdha. Everyone lost their lives on the spot.

Condition of injured policemen critical

There is a wave of mourning among the family, colleagues and the entire district due to the demise of 5 policemen. Till now it is not clear whether the policemen were on duty or not. Three other soldiers have been seriously injured in this accident. He was immediately rescued and taken to Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital. Where he is undergoing treatment. The condition of all three remains critical and they are being treated under the supervision of doctors.

Truck driver also injured

As soon as the news of the accident was received, senior police officers reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Giving more information about this entire matter, Additional SP Madhusmita Mishra said, ‘A Bolero and a truck collided in the accident. 5 people traveling in Bolero have died. The condition of 2 people has been referred due to critical condition, while the condition of 1 is stable. All the people traveling in the Bolero were employees of Jharsuguda Police. The incident happened around 4 am. The driver of the truck is also injured. He is also being treated. The case has been registered and investigation has been started.
