Renuka Swamy murder case investigation is going on. The trial is going on in the 57th CCH court and the lawyers are presenting arguments for the accused. During the last hearing, the counsel for Pawan (A3), one of the accused in the case, had not only accused the investigating officers of the case but also argued that one of the investigating officers, ACP Chandan, should be considered an accused in the Renuka Swamy murder case.

Later, the court adjourned the hearing. The court passed an order on the petition of Pawan’s lawyer and fined Pawan’s lawyer. While seizing the mobile phones of the accused, the police took photographs. Referring to the color of the tiles in that photo, Pawan’s lawyer had accused the investigators of creating false evidence and tampering with the evidence. But the court not only rejected the petition, but also fined the lawyer five thousand rupees for wasting the court’s time. It has instructed to give this money to the Legal Services Authority.

Accused Darshan had filed an application seeking to meet the family members. The petition was granted by the court. The court has allowed the visit of family members and friends. The court ordered to allow the visit as per the jail manual. The court has given directions to the jail authorities in this regard. Since Darshan is a celebrity, the jail authorities had imposed certain rules on the visit of the accused.

It has been two years since the Renuka Swamy murder case. Actor Darshan, Pavitra Gowda and many other accused have been arrested in this case. Darshan was jailed and released after getting bail. But the Supreme Court again ordered him to judicial custody. Now many accused including Darshan are in some other jails including Parappana Agrahara. Darshan’s lawyer has not applied for bail again but has requested the court to speed up the trial. But the SPP has not agreed to continuous trial or speedy trial.
