An Iftar party was organized in Mamallapuram. This program was held in a hotel on Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 9 pm. Only those who were invited were allowed to participate in this gathering. Only 1000 people were invited from all over Tamil Nadu. He was clearly told that those who come without an invitation have no invitation.
TVK clarified that the meeting was organized with the prior approval of the Election Commission keeping in mind the election time and the code of conduct currently in force. Vijay’s campaign rally ahead of assembly elections is being closely watched. Thus, any controversy will backfire on them. They are taking precautionary measures to avoid it.

The Iftar party organized last year ended in controversy. Vijay was accused of insulting the Muslim community. Looks like Vijay has learned his lesson from this. Vijay fasted all day before the 2025 Iftar party. Although widely praised for showing prayers before completing the fast, the Tamil Nadu Sunnat Jamaat complained to the Chennai Police Commissioner that the program was not properly managed, disrespecting sanctity. A Sunni Muslim body in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh later issued a fatwa against Vijay. Vijay did not publicly comment on anything at that time.
