The Telangana government organized the second edition of ‘Gaddar Film Award’ yesterday (March 19). Awards were presented to several celebrities and technicians including actress Rashmika Mandanna. Some other dignitaries including CM Revanth Reddy distributed awards to the best actors, actresses and technicians. Although the event went well, two important things were reported a little late. Some Telugu media reported that Rashmika Mandanna’s bouncer teased her during the event and Rajamouli’s father Viendra Prasad, a famous storyteller, was insulted.
One of actress Rashmika Mandanna’s personal bouncers reportedly got into a fight with Telangana’s Film Development Corporation (FDC) chairman Dil Raju’s close aide. Rashmika and Dil Raju were sitting side by side in the program. But it is said that Rashmikara bouncer mistaking Dil Raju’s close friend for a fan, teased him, and since the bouncer was new to the job, he did not know much about the dignitaries there. A verbal altercation took place between the two until the media intervened and clarified the situation.

Rajamouli’s father, MP Vijayendra Prasad, who is also a famous screenwriter, also participated in the event. But he walked out of the ceremony halfway due to the mishap of the event management company. The Mumbai-based company responsible for the show did not know much about the South Indian celebrity. He mistook Vijayendra Prasad for actor R Narayana Murthy and called him by the same name. Fed up with this, Vijayendra Prasad is said to have angrily left the stage.
‘NTR Lifetime Achievement’ was awarded to Megastar Chiranjeevi. Receiving the award, Chiranjeevi praised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Telangana government. Appreciating the government’s support to the film industry, he also opined that the Andhra Pradesh government should learn from Telangana in terms of encouraging artists.
