A few months ago, actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requested him to provide necessary infrastructure for live concerts. After that, Modi also requested all the states to create a favorable environment for live concerts in one of his speeches. Now it is getting to know its essence. Singer Diljeet Dossang is also the highest ticket-selling live corner artist in India, earning a whopping Rs 943 crore from just 14 shows. Diljeet Dosanjh completed these 14 shows in a few months.

Famous Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh did a live concert tour named ‘Dil-Luminati’. He gave 14 shows in 13 cities of the country. He also gave some foreign shows. Diljeet generated a total of Rs 943 crores for these 14 shows. Due to this 114 crore rupees tax has been paid to the government. These figures show that live concerts are not just entertainment, but have an unprecedented impact on the economy of the country.

Of the Rs 943 crore earned by Diljeet Dossang, Rs 276 crore comes from direct income i.e. ticket sales, sponsorships. The remaining 553 crores came as indirect income. This concert series has created around 1.18 lakh jobs in live event and other ancillary sectors. This includes workers in the security, logistics, manufacturing, fashion and hotel industries.

About 38% of the audience for this live concert had traveled from other cities for the event. Half of them extended their stay by 5 days, which brought huge benefits to the local hotel, transport and catering industry. Audit firm Eastern & Young has reported that the program has earned the government about Rs 114 crore in GST and other taxes.

A total of more than 3.2 lakh people witnessed the 14 shows held in 13 cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Bangalore. A record 55,000 fans attended a single show in Delhi. Not only that, but according to the report, 49% of the total audience is from medium and small cities. This highlights the huge demand for live events even in smaller cities in India.

Although the event held in Bangalore in December 2024 was a huge success, a language controversy was created on social media. When the show was held in Bangalore, a local fan said that he had forced another audience member to speak in Kannada. This was the cause of wide debate at the time. Apart from India, the tour was also a huge success in America, Canada and Europe, grossing around $137 million globally.
