In the second semi-final match of the Under-19 World Cup 2026, Indian cricket team’s opener Aaron George scored a century (115). This was his first century from his bat in the current World Cup edition. Meanwhile, he along with captain Ayush Mhatre (62) made a century partnership for the second wicket. Interestingly, George played this innings while chasing the big target of 311 runs to win against the Afghan team.

George’s innings was brilliant

Opening the innings for India, George batted cautiously and completed his half-century in 52 balls. He made a partnership of 90 runs for the first wicket with Vaibhav Suryavanshi (68) and 114 runs with Mhatre. On the Harare pitch which looked good for batting, George converted his innings into a century in 95 balls. He was out after scoring 115 runs in 104 balls with the help of 15 fours and 2 sixes.

George played a good first innings in the T20 World Cup 2026. He had scored 16 runs against Pakistan in his last match. He played an inning of 23 runs in 16 balls in the match against host Zimbabwe. In his first match, this opening batsman did not even touch double figures against New Zealand and was out after scoring 6 runs. He has scored 161 runs in 4 matches at an average of 40.25.
