Union Minister Piyush Goyal has openly praised Uttar Pradesh. He described UP as an ideal state for business and said that the law and order system here is of the highest level. While talking to the media in Mumbai, the Union Commerce and Industry Minister praised the infrastructure of UP. He gave credit to PM Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath for improving the condition of the state.
Piyush Goyal said, “Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has completely transformed Uttar Pradesh. He has made it an ideal place for business. He has established the highest level of law and order. The infrastructure is world-class. The people there are excited. They want to build a better future for their children and their families. And the future of the state is very bright. Thank you very much.”
Uttar Pradesh becomes the new hub of industrial development
According to the latest data of the Annual Industrial Survey (ASI) 2023-24, Uttar Pradesh is among the top 5 industrial states of the country on several important parameters like employment generation, number of factory units, production and gross value added (GVA). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s industrial policies are rapidly establishing Uttar Pradesh as a major state on the industrial map of India. According to the report, an increase of 5.92% was recorded in employment in the industrial sector in Uttar Pradesh in the year 2023-24. More than 57 lakh jobs were created in the state during the last decade (2014-15 to 2023-24). Uttar Pradesh is now in the top 5 in employment along with states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
Record growth in production and GVA
According to the report, a growth of 5.80% was recorded in industrial production in the year 2023-24. Gross Value Added (GVA) witnessed an increase of 11.89%, in which Uttar Pradesh contributed 7%. The state’s role in sectors like basic metals, motor vehicles, chemicals, food products and pharmaceuticals has been extremely impressive. Uttar Pradesh’s share now stands at 8.51% of the total national factories, taking it to fourth place in the country. This position of Uttar Pradesh after Tamil Nadu (15.43%), Gujarat (12.81%) and Maharashtra (10.20%) clarifies the improvement in the industrial base structure of the state.
