Elections on how many seats in which state?

BJP and its allies have influence in Maharashtra, while the DMK-led alliance is strong in Tamil Nadu. At the same time, Mamata Banerjee’s party TMC has majority in the Assembly in West Bengal, so they can get an edge there. Also, the contest between NDA and Grand Alliance in Bihar will be under watch. After the Iftar party here, AIMIM has announced its support to the RJD candidate. Party leader Akhtarul Iman announced this.

Congress has upper hand in Himachal and BJP in Haryana

Apart from this, a political clash can be seen between BJD and BJP in Odisha. At the same time, the ruling BJP alliance in Assam seems to be in a strong position. In Telangana, the equations have changed since the formation of the Congress government. Also, due to the presence of Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, it seems to have the upper hand there, while the influence of BJP can be seen in Haryana.

Overall, the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 16, 2026 can affect the political equations of the Upper House of Parliament. The outcome of this election will decide in which direction the balance of power moves between the NDA and the opposition parties in the Rajya Sabha.
