During the ongoing Kavad Yatra in Haridwar, on Thursday, Shiva devotees were wreaths through helicopters on the kavadis and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami washed him and honored him. In Dharmanagri Haridwar these days, there is a stir of Kanwari wearing all four and saffron bana and the slogans of ‘Bole Bomb’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ are echoing everywhere. Thousands of Kawandis are coming to Haridwar to get Ganga water daily.

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, he was welcomed by showering flowers through a helicopter from the sky on the Kawandis in Haridwar. Dhami reached here and washed the feet of the Kanwari and honored him. He garlanded Shiva devotees and gave them fruits.

On this occasion, CM Dhami, while talking to the media, described himself as fortunate to serve and respect the devotees of Lord Shiva and said that this is a very sacred, mythological and difficult journey in which Shiva devotees visit hundreds of kilometers on foot and come here to take holy Ganges water and reach their destination on foot and do Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.

He said, “It is a matter of pride for us that we are welcoming his feet and honoring Lord Shiva for a safe and easy journey of Kanwari.” On the question of some kanwadis being uproar, sabotage and assault, the Chief Minister said that the way Lord Shiva had poisoned himself for the welfare of the people, Shiva devotees should also take inspiration of public welfare from them.

Referring to the continuous efforts being made by the administration and the police to make the Kanwar Yatra smooth and safe, he appealed to the Kanwari that if anyone had some difficulty, he should not create difficulty for others while meditating on Lord Shiva.

The Chief Minister said that Uttarakhand is the holy Devbhoomi and continuous efforts are being made to maintain the original form of Dev Bhoomi. He said that in order to protect the demographic of Uttarakhand, strict steps have been taken regarding anti -conversion, ‘Bhoomi Jihad’, ‘Love Jihad’ etc. in the state and for the first time in the country, all citizens of the state have been implemented uniform civil code.
