New Delhi: The situation has become quite serious due to the war in West Asia. Most of the countries of the world are facing energy crisis. An all-party meeting was held under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss this global crisis. Many leaders of the party and opposition participated in this meeting held in Parliament House, while Mamata Banerjee’s TMC has expressed its protest by boycotting this meeting. According to sources, in this meeting, when Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar was asked a question about mediation in the Iran war, he said that we cannot be a broker like Pakistan.

What happened in the meeting?
According to sources, in the all-party meeting chaired by Rajnath Singh, the government gave a strong and reassuring message that the situation is completely under control amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia. There is no need to be worried. After a detailed presentation by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri also said energy security remains stable with adequate availability of crude oil, LPG and other essential supplies. India’s strong refining capacity will ensure steady supply, including of fertilizers. Four ships have arrived and more are expected. The government stressed its active diplomatic outreach and said India is in touch with all sides. Ships are arriving and supply lines are active. This is a diplomatic success for the country.
People’s safety first priority
In terms of security, the government stressed that there is no panic, Indian embassies are actively helping citizens, and evacuation plans are in place, with people’s safety being the top priority. Regarding security concerns, including reports of submarine activity near Sri Lanka, it was made clear that if there was any threat to India, it would be dealt with decisively.
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi also raised issues related to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, with the government saying diplomatic contacts were initiated as soon as channels reopened. Overall, the overarching message of the meeting was clear that despite uncertainties regarding the continuation of the conflict, India is prepared at all levels, is putting its people first, and is confident of dealing with the situation through coordinated diplomatic, strategic and economic efforts.
