There is a continuous uproar in Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University over the issue of controversial slogans being raised against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. JNU administration is strict regarding sloganeering against PM and Home Minister and on its complaint, FIR has been registered in this matter. The institute has called this incident an attack on democracy and said that the university is not a laboratory of anti-national activities. At the same time, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has given a big statement in this matter and said that these are the children of Sharjeel Imam, who were born in JNU, we will work to crush their intentions.

What is the whole matter?

In fact, on Tuesday, while hearing the case of Delhi riots in February 2020, the Supreme Court had refused to grant bail to two jailed accused Sharjeel Imam and Omar Khalid. After this decision of the court, there was a demonstration in Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, where objectionable slogans were raised allegedly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. This incident created political controversy across the country.

What did CM Fadnavis say?

Speaking on the objectionable slogans raised in JNU in relation to the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said in Nagpur – “Look, these are the children of Sharjeel Imam, who were born in JNU, we will work to crush their intentions. Such nefarious intentions are those who stand with the traitors, those who stand with those who speak of breaking the country, their intentions will be crushed.” They will be crushed, such intentions will not work.”

Fadnavis also spoke on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

When Union Minister CR Patil said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj belonged to the Patidar community, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said – I do not know what Union Minister CR Patil said, but Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj did not belong to any one community. Great men have no society, no caste, those who are great men belong to the entire country. That’s why they feel that it would not be right to call them of this caste or that caste. He belonged to the entire country and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was therefore us. Today I am able to tell my name, it is because Shivaji Maharaj was there. It is not right to divide great men in this way.
